 2. FERTILISERS

 1. Complete Cactus fertiliser with N-P-K-Mg = 7 - 17 - 35 - 3
Water-soluble complete fertiliser containing all nutrients.
Contains relatively little nitrogen (N) and is therefore particularly suitable for cacti.
This allows Cacti to retain their natural compact appearance.
Too much nitrogen (N) causes Cacti to grow longer, thinner and weaker.

This complete Cactus fertiliser contains all the necessary main fertilisers (N, P, K) and also:
1.1 3% Magnesium (Mg), also a main fertiliser that is necessary for the formation of chlorophyll.
1.2 Iron (Fe) in an easily absorbable chelate form, also necessary for the formation of chlorophyll.
1.3 All necessary essential trace elements in an easily absorbable chelate form, such as:
Boron (B), Molybdenum (Mo), Copper (Cu), Manganese (Mn), Zinc (Zn).

 2. Calcium Nitrate fertiliser
The Nitrogen (N) in Calcium Nitrate fertiliser ensures more length growth.

 3. Iron chelate
Iron chelate contains iron in an easily absorbable compound for plants.
With sufficient iron plants, shrubs and trees become greener leaves, assimilate better and produce more energy.
Resulting in a better growth and better flowering.

 FERTILISER AND SOIL
All soil contains a limited amount of nutrients.
These nutrients are absorbed by the plant.
As a result, after a while, the soil will contain too few nutrients.

You will therefore need to add minerals and trace elements yourself.
Artificial fertiliser allows you to supplement minerals and trace elements in a targeted manner.

 For Cacti, see Cactus fertiliser

For extra iron, see Iron chelate DTPA

FERTILISER DOSAGE

Concentration of fertilisers
Give a maximum of 1 gram of solid fertiliser per litre of water.
For seedlings, cuttings and slow growth, use 0.5 grams of fertiliser per litre of water.

Frequency of fertilisation
Fertilise a maximum of once or twice a month by dissolving the fertiliser in the watering can.

Frequency of watering
Water about twice a month, so approximately every two weeks.
Depending on the conditions where the Mescaline Cacti are growing,
you can choose shorter or longer intervals.
Do not water from 1 October to 1 March in Europe, as Cacti go into winter rest during this period!

Measuring the fertilisers
Use a small or large plastic or metal spoon.
Spoons are available in various sizes from household goods shops.
Make sure you know the weight of a level spoonful of both fertilisers!

Calibrating the measuring spoon
Since both fertilisers have different specific weights, you must calibrate the spoon for both fertilisers.

First, scoop 10 or more level spoonfuls of fertiliser into a container or bag, or onto a piece of paper.
Weigh the fertiliser and divide the weight by the number of spoonfuls.
You will then know the weight of a level spoonful of fertiliser.

N.B.
If you use a container to weigh the fertiliser, you must subtract the weight of the container with fertiliser
from the weight of the empty container!
Then divide the weight of the fertiliser you have scooped by the number of level spoonfuls of fertiliser you have scooped.
This will give you the weight of 1 spoonful of fertiliser.
