1. WHAT IS SAN PEDRO CACTUS SOIL ?
Special soil mixture of finely sieved high-quality peat (horticultural quality), lava meal, lime and fertiliser.
Usable for all Trichocereus species, such as:
1. San Pedro Cactus = Trichocereus pachanoi = Echinopsis pachanoi)
2. Peruvian Torch Cactus = Trichocereus peruvianus = Echinopsis peruviana)
3. Achuma Cactus = Trichocereus bridgesii = Echinopsis lageniformis)
4. Bald San Pedro Cactus = Trichocereus scopulicola = Echinopsis scopulicola)
You can add additional lava meal or other substrates to compose the soil to your liking.

2. COMPOSITION OF THE SAN PEDRO CACTUS SOIL
1. Finely sieved high-quality peat of horticultural quality.
Homogeneous mixture without large lumps, lumps and twigs.
Finely sieved to leave a certain size of peat fibres.
2. Supplemented with a Total Fertiliser with low Nitrogen content for a complete amount of nutrients.
3. Supplemented with a little lime for the right acidity pH .
4. Supplemented with lava meal (lava powder) for additional strengthening natural minerals.

4. APPLICATION OF SAN PEDRO CACTUS SOIL
1. For repotting (re-potting) in another pot.
2. For repotting cuttings or sown Trichocereus Cacti.
3. As a basic soil for all Trichocereus species to which you add other substrates.
This allows you to compose the soil according to your own wishes.

5 COMPOSITION OF THE SAN PEDRO CACTUS SOIL

6. ADDITIONS TO SAN PEDRO SOIL
6.1 Adding extra Lava meal
With extra addition of Lava meal, the soil can be enriched even more with minerals, which:
1. strengthens the plant.
2. gives even more compact growth.
3. gives stronger and tastier fruit.
4. produces thicker and more coloured spines in Cacti.
6.2 Adding Perlite
Additional addition of Perlite to the soil:
1. increases the draining effect of the soil, allowing water to drain faster.
2. allows the soil to hold less water, causing the soil to dry faster.
3. improves soil structure, making the soil looser and airier.
This prevents soil compacting, and improves oxygen uptake by plant roots.
As a result, the roots of Cacti and other plants function better.
