| CALCIUM NITRATE FERTILISER FOR SALE
Calcium nitrate fertiliser chemically
Chemical name: calcium nitrate.
Chemical formula: Ca(NO3)2
Calcium nitrate is a white powder that dissolves very well in water.
The molar mass of calcium nitrate is 164.088 grams per mole.

What is calcium nitrate fertiliser?
Calcium nitrate fertiliser is a fertiliser containing nitrogen (N).
Nitrogen is a main fertiliser for plants, shrubs and trees.
Nitrogen is essential for the growth of plants, shrubs and trees.
Calcium nitrate fertiliser = Nitrogen fertiliser for longitudinal growth
The Nitrogen (N) in calcium nitrate fertiliser ensures length growth.
The more Nitrogen plants receive, the faster, longer and thinner the plants will grow.

|
Calcium nitrate fertiliser and cacti
With a little calcium nitrate fertiliser, you can add extra nitrogen (N) to your Cactus fertiliser.
With extra nitrogen (N), Cacti will grow faster and more elongated.
This causes many Cacti to grow unnaturally.
So do not give Cacti too much nitrogen !
|
Too much nitrogen for cacti
Too much nitrogen (N) will cause cacti to grow elongated, limp and shiny green.
The tissue of overfertilised Cacti becomes weaker and contains more water (moisture).
These Cacti become more susceptible to diseases, pests, pests, heat, cold.
Eventually, the Cactus will break at the thinner and flabbier elongated part of the stem.
|
Why give fertiliser?
A special fertiliser contains :
1. a better-tuned ratio of required nutrients.
As a result, there is less wastage due to a surplus of some nutrients.
A surplus of certain nutrients can inhibit a Mescaline Cactus in its growth and flowering.
2. No animal ingredients, and therefore no dangerous bacteria.
Some bacteria can be harmful to humans when consumed.
Farmyard manure and cow dung contain very high levels of animal bacteria, and can be dangerous if consumed by humans.

FERTILISING WITH NITROGEN FROM OTHER PLANTS
Fertilising succulents = Succulents (not Cacti)
Succulents (= non-cacti) need more nutrients, especially nitrogen (N), than cacti.
Therefore fertilise more often (twice a month 0.5 grams per Litre), or in a higher concentration (maximum 1 gram / Litre).
Give equal amounts (50% / % 50%) of both fertilisers (Cactus fertiliser and calcium nitrate fertiliser).
Fertilising houseplants
Houseplants need more nutrients, especially more Nitrogen (N) than Cacti.
Therefore, fertilise more often (twice a month), or in a higher concentration (maximum 1 gram / Liter).
Give equal amounts (50% / % 50%) of both fertilisers (Cactus fertiliser (1) and calcium nitrate fertiliser (2) ).

TOTAL FERTILISER
= CACTUS FERTILISER AND CALCIUM NITRATE FERTILISER TOGETHER
By combining Cactus fertiliser and calcium nitrate fertiliser, you have a Total fertiliser for all plants.
This fertiliser-combination is used in horticulture for growing plants on inert substrates.
This means that the substrate contains no nutrition, and all nutrients must come from the fertilisers.
So both fertilisers together contain all the nutrients plants need.
See: Total fertiliser

PREPARATION OF THE NUTRIENT SOLUTION
Dissolving the fertiliser
Dissolving in water.
This fertiliser dissolves well in water.
|
FREQUENCY OF FERTILISATION
Frequency of fertilisation
Fertilise every fortnight by dissolving the fertiliser in the irrigation water.
Calcium nitrate fertiliser can also be used for an extra growth boost.
|
FREQUENCY OF WATERING
Frequency of watering
Water every fortnight.
The conditions at the place where the plants are growing will determine whether you can choose shorter or longer intervals.
From 1 October to 1 March, do not water Cacti, as Cacti then go into hibernation !
|
DOSAGE OF FERTILISERS
Concentration of fertilisers
Give a maximum of 1 gram of solid fertiliser per litre of water.
A total of 1.0 gram per litre of water for stronger nutrition for Cacti and Succulents.
A total of 0.5 grams per litre of water for subtle nutrition for Cacti and Succulents.
For seedlings, cuttings and gentle growth 0.5 grams of fertiliser per litre of water.
Fertilise every fortnight with a nutrient solution of 0.5 grams per litre of water.
Fertilise every four weeks with a nutrient solution of 1.0 gram per litre of water.
Use of fertilisers
Cactus fertiliser and calcium nitrate fertiliser together (1:1) are suitable for Houseplants and for Cacti (in summer).
Only Cactus fertiliser for Cacti in spring and autumn.
Calcium nitrate fertiliser only for extra length growth.
250 grams of fertiliser is enough for 250 to 500 litres of nutrient solution.
Measuring the fertiliser
Use a small or large round spoon made of plastic or metal.
A bulb spoon can be bought in different sizes at a household goods shop.
Make sure you know the weight of a measured spoonful of fertiliser of both fertiliser !
Calibrate dosing spoon
Since both fertilisers have different specific weights, you need to calibrate the spoon for both fertilisers.
First scoop a full leveled spoonful of fertiliser into container or bag, or on a piece of paper, 10 times or more.
Weigh the fertiliser, and divide the weight of the fertiliser by the number of scoops of fertiliser.
You will then know the weight of one level measuring spoonful of fertiliser.
N.B.
If you use a container to weigh the fertiliser, you need to reduce the weight of the container with fertiliser
with the weight of the empty tray !
Then divide the weight of the scooped fertiliser by the number of leveled spoonfuls of fertiliser you scooped.
Then you have the weight of 1 spoonful of fertiliser.

OTHER FERTILISERS
Iron chelate !
Iron Chelat combats yellowing of leaves due to iron deficiency.
With enough iron, plants make more leaf green (chlorophyll) and greener leaves.
Plants with greener leaves:
-- assimilate better.
-- grow and flower better.

for more technical information on fertilising Mescaline Cacti.
