CACTUS OF THE FOUR WINDS
= CACTUS OF THE FOUR WINDS
= ACHUMA CACTUS WITH FOUR RIBS
= TRICHOCEREUS BRIDGESII FORMA QUADRICOSTATUS
= ECHINOPSIS LAGENIFORMIS FORMA QUADRICOSTATA

Grey-blue columnar cactus with four ribs and long brownish-yellow spines.

Smallest size Achuma Cactus with 4 ribs in a pot.
This strongly grown and well-rooted Achuma Cactus in a pot is grey-blue in colour.
It was a cutting from a large Achuma Cactus, and is well rooted after this.

The Achuma Cactus has long brownish-yellow spines up to 10 cm long, and a rough epidermis.
The large white flowers are 15 cm in diameter, and 15 cm long.

Mescaline
This strongly raised Achuma Cactus has a thicker green chlorenchyme layer than a weakly raised (seeded) Achuma Cactus.
This tissue layer immediately below the epidermis contains relatively the most Mescaline.

Achuma
Indians from Bolivia call Trichocereus bridgesiii and Trichocereus pachanoi both ‘Achuma’.
Apparently, they make no distinction between the two botanically distinct species.
The Achuma Cactus contains about the same amount of Mescaline as the San Pedro Cactus (Trichocereus pachanoi).

Growth
This well-rooted Achuma Cactus in a pot grows about 10 - 15 centimetres in length in the first year.
In the following years, this Achuma Cactus in a sufficiently large pot grows about 20 - 30 centimetres longer per year.
