Special soil mixture of finely sieved high-quality peat (horticultural quality), lava meal, lime and total fertiliser.
Suitable for all cacti and succulent species, as well as houseplants.
You can add extra lava meal or other substrates to compose the soil according to your wishes.
1. Composition of the cactus soil
Special peat mixture of:
1. Finely sifted high-quality horticultural peat.
Homogeneous fine mixture without lumps, lumps or twigs.
Finely sieved to leave a certain size of peat fibres.
2. Supplemented with Total Manure for a complete amount of nutrients.
3. Supplemented with a little lime for the right acidity pH .
4. Supplemented with lava meal (lava powder) for additional strengthening natural minerals.
5. Supplemented with 20% Perlite to make the soil more permeable.
The Perlite is supplied loose, so you can determine the quantity yourself.
The more Perlite in the soil, the faster the soil dries out.
2. Add extra Lava meal
You can add extra Lava meal to enrich the soil even more with minerals, which:
1. strengthens the plant.
2. gives even more compact growth.
3. gives stronger and tastier fruit.
4. produces even thicker and more coloured thorns.
3. Adding Perlite
Additional addition of Perlite to the soil:
1. increases the draining effect of the soil, allowing water to drain faster.
2. allows the soil to hold less water, causing the soil to dry more quickly.
3. improves soil structure, making the soil looser and airier.
This prevents soil compacting, and improves oxygen uptake by plant roots.
As a result, the roots of Cacti and other plants function better.
4. Application of the Cactus soil
1. For repotting (transferring) Cacti in another pot.
2. For repotting cuttings or sown Cacti.
3. As basic soil for all Cactus species to which you add other substrates.
In this way you can compose the soil as you wish.
CACTUS SOIL IN NATURE
Cacti grow in nature in many different areas and in varying climates.
Cacti therefore grow in nature in many different types of soil.
In each natural area, cacti are adapted to these conditions (soil and climate).
Each natural soil type has certain properties, with certain advantages and disadvantages.
Roots of cacti in nature
Usually the roots grow in humus from decayed plant remains of leaves, twigs, flowers, fruits.
In a rocky soil, these plant remains are on the surface, and between the rocks and stones.
So the Cactus does grow among rocks, boulders and gravel, but these serve mainly to give the plant support.
The roots of the Cactus grow in di places in the soil where the plant remains and nutrition are located.
Soil drying out in nature
In nature, soil dries out quickly because:
-- the soil often contains pebbles that absorb little or no water.
-- the temperature is higher.
-- There is more wind.
-- the soil slopes (hill, slope).
CACTUS SOIL IN CULTURE
The conditions at home are different from those in nature!
The trick is to find a balance between all the conditions your plants experience.
The most important thing is that your Cacti and succulents do not stay wet for too long.
Adding Perlite to cactus soil
By adding Perlite to the cactus soil, the soil dries out faster.
You will need less Perlite in sunny locations, and more Perlite in less sunny locations of your plants.
For moisture-sensitive plants such as Ariocacrpus species and Ace flowers, you need more Perlite.

Speciaal grondmengsel van fijn gezeefde hoogwaardige turf (tuinbouw-kwaliteit), lavameel, kalk en Totaal-mest.
Bruikbaar voor alle Cactussoorten en Vetplantensoorten, en ook voor Kamerplanten.
U kunt extra lavameel of andere substraten toevoegen om de grond geheel naar uw wens samen te stellen.
1. Samenstelling van de Cactusgrond
Speciale turfmengsel van:
1. Fijn gezeefde hoogwaardige turf van tuinbouw-kwaliteit.
Homogeen fijn mengsel zonder brokken, klonten of takjes.
Fijn gezeefd om een bepaalde grootte van de turf-vezels over te houden.
2. Aangevuld met Totaal-mest voor een complete hoeveelheid voedingsstoffen.
3. Aangevuld met een beetje kalk voor de juiste zuurgraad pH .
4. Aangevuld met lavameel (lava-poeder) voor extra versterkende natuurlijke mineralen.
5. Aangevuld met 20 % Perliet om de grond beter doorlaatbaar te maken.
De Perliet wordt los bijgeleverd, zodat u zelf de hoeveelheid kan bepalen.
Hoe meer Perliet in de grond, hoe sneller de grond uitdroogt.
2. Extra Lavameel toevoegen
U kunt extra Lavameel toevoegen om de grond nog meer te verrijken met mineralen, wat:
1. de plant versterkt.
2. een nog compactere groei geeft.
3. sterkere en smakelijker vruchten geeft.
4. nog dikkere en gekleurdere doorns oplevert.
3. Perliet toevoegen
Extra toevoeging van Perliet aan de grond:
1. verhoogt de drainerende werking van de bodem, waardoor water sneller wordt afgevoerd.
2. zorgt dat de grond minder water kan bevatten, en waardoor de aarde sneller droog wordt.
3. verbetert de structuur van de bodem, waardoor de grond losser en luchtiger wordt.
Dit voorkomt het dichtslaan van de bodem, en verbetert de zuurstof-opname van de wortels van planten.
Hierdoor functioneren de wortels van Cactussen en andere planten beter.
4. Toepassing van de Cactus grond
1. Voor het verpotten (overpotten) van Cactussen in een andere pot.
2. Voor het oppotten van stekken of gezaaide Cactussen.
3. Als basis-grond voor alle Cactus-soorten waar u andere substraten aan toevoegt.
Zo kunt u de kweek-grond geheel naar eigen wens samenstellen.
CACTUSGROND IN DE NATUUR

Cactussen groeien in de natuur in veel verschillende gebieden en in wisselende klimaten.
Cactussen groeien dus in de natuur in veel verschillende grondsoorten.
Cactussen zijn ín elk natuurgebied aangepast aan deze omstandigheden (grond en klimaat).
Elke natuurlijke grondsoort heeft bepaalde eigenschappen, met bepaalde voordelen en nadelen.
Wortels van Cactussen in de natuur
Meestal groeien de wortels in humus van vergane plantenresten van bladeren, takjes, bloemen, vruchten.
In een rotsachtige bodem bevinden zich deze plantenresten aan de oppervlakte, en tussen de rotsen en stenen.
De Cactus groeit dus wel tussen stenen, keien en grind, maar die dienen vooral om de plant steun te geven.
De wortels van de Cactus groeien op di plekken in de bodem waar zich de plantenresten en de voeding bevinden.
Uitdroging van de grond in de natuur
In de natuur droogt de grond snel uit omdat:
-- de grond vaak steentjes bevat die weinig of geen water opnemen.
-- de temperatuur hoger is.
-- er meer wind staat.
-- de grond schuin afloopt (heuvel, helling).

De omstandigheden bij u thuis zijn anders dan in de natuur !
Het is de kunst om een balans te vinden tussen alle omstandigheden die uw planten ervaren.
Het belangrijkste is dat uw Cactussen en Vetplanten niet te lang nat blijven staan.
Perliet toevoegen aan Cactusgrond
Door Perliet toe te voegen aan de Cactusgrond droogt de grond sneller uit.
Bij een zonnige standplaats heeft u minder Perliet nodig, en meer Perliet bij een weinig zonnige plek van uw planten.
Bij vocht-gevoelige planten zoals Ariocacrpus-soorten en Aasbloemen heeft u meer Perliet nodig.
