CARLOS CASTANEDA BOOKS
Carlos Castaneda (1925-1998)
Was an American writer who hailed from Peru.
During the ‘Woodstock period’ in the late 1960s (Woodstock festival was in 1969), Castaneda was the most important ‘New Age’ writer.
Castaneda is therefore called ‘The Godfather of the New Age’; he was the literary component of the Woodstock period.
Research and experiences
The writer and his partner did extensive research on traditional Mexican shamanism.
Castaneda wrote his three first books while studying Anthropology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Despite criticism that the stories were fabricated, the books nevertheless reflected his extraordinary experiences with the Peyote, among others.
Castaneda introduced a 25-generation-old Toltec movement theory called ‘Tensegrity’ .
The books of Carlos Castaneda
Castaneda has published his experiences with the supernatural and his path to insight and wisdom in thirteen narrative books since 1960.
He describes his experiences with shamans, supernatural phenomena, Peyote Cacti, and magic mushrooms.
Important is Castaneda's apprenticeship with the mysterious traditional Indian Yaqui shaman from northern Mexico: ‘Don Juan Matus’ .
This Indian shaman Don Juan Matus calls the Peyote Cactus ‘the teacher’ .
Tensegrity
Tensegrity is the modern name for the ‘Magical Passes’ , which were rediscovered and introduced by Castaneda.
‘Magical Passes’ are positions and movements of the body and of the breath.
These ‘Magical Passes’ were used by Toltec Shamans for centuries.
Original English edition
We mainly offer the original Angel books by Carlos Castaneda.
Because translated books often do not reflect what the author says.
Especially for these spiritual books, the actual meaning and correct info is very important.
So that you properly understand what the writer means.
So it's better to read the original book, even if it takes extra effort.
Afterwards, you will understand better what the writer means, and know more English words.
Dutch Translation of Castaneda books
We have few Dutch versions, because in every translation, information is not translated properly.
Translations always contain words with a different and incorrect meaning than in the original books.
Especially with spiritual topics, translation is difficult and time-consuming.
So valuable info is lost in translation.
We therefore recommend the original English edition (version).

Carlos Castaneda (1925-1998)
Was een Amerikaanse schrijver die uit Peru afkomstig was.
In de "Woodstock-periode" eind jaren 60 (Woodstock-festival was in 1969) was Castaneda de belangrijkste "New Age" schrijver.
Castaneda wordt daarom "The Godfather of the New Age" genoemd, hij was de literaire component van de Woodstock periode.
Onderzoek en ervaringen
De schrijver en zijn partner hebben uitvoerig onderzoek gedaan naar traditioneel Mexicaans shamanisme.
Zijn drie eerste boeken schreef Castaneda tijdens zijn Antropologie-studie aan de Universiteit van California in Los Angeles (UCLA).
Ondanks kritiek dat de verhalen verzonnen waren, bevatten de boeken toch de neerslag van zijn bijzondere ervaringen met o.a. de Peyote.

Omdat vertaalde boeken vaak niet weergeven wat de schrijver zegt.
Vooral voor deze spirituele boeken is de werkelijke betekenis en correcte info heel belangrijk.
Zodat je goed begrijpt wat de schrijver bedoelt.
Je kan dus beter het originele boek lezen, ook al kost dat extra moeite.
Achteraf begrijp je beter wat de schrijver bedoelt, en weet je meer Engelse woorden.
Nederlandse Vertaling van Castaneda boeken
Nederlandse versies hebben we weinig, omdat bij elke vertaling informatie niet goed wordt vertaald.
In vertalingen staan altijd woorden met een andere en onjuiste betekenis dan in de originele boeken.
Vooral bij spirituele onderwerpen is het vertalen lastig en tijdrovend.
Er gaat dus bij een vertaling waardevolle info verloren.
Wij raden dus de originele Engelse uitgave (versie) aan.
