Grey-blue to light blue columnar cactus plant with strong long thick spines.
Strong plant with a diameter of 5 - 6 centimetres.
This Peruvian Torch Cactus form originates from the region around the city of Matucana in Peru.
This region is known for its high quality mind-expanding San Pedro Cacti, which are extremely strong.
Features include strong heavy thick thorns and a distinctive light-blue colour of the epidermis.
This is probably the strongest spined Trichocereus peruvianus.
See the book: Trout - Trout's Notes on San Pedro & related Trichocereus species (pages 177 and 178).
The Mescaline content is probably even higher than in the San Pedro Cactus (Trichocereus pachanoi) !
Each areole (= thorn cushion) has beige-brown felt (wool) on the top.
And also a distinct V-shaped groove above the areole.
