Well-rooted San Pedro Cactus with 6 ribs in a pot.
More ribs means more Mescaline ?
This 6-ribbed San Pedro Cactus plant has a larger surface area on the outside.
And therefore probably contains more Mescaline than San Pedro Cacti with fewer ribs !
Ribs on the San Pedro Cactus
San Pedro Cacti can have a different number of vertical ribs.
Usually San Pedro Cacti have 5 or 6 ribs, but 4 ribs or 7 or 8 ribs also occur very occasionally.
False San Pedro Cacti often have 7 or 8 ribs !
False San Pedro Cacti usually have 7 or 8 ribs, and sometimes more.
They often have a thick stem and also very short spines up to a few millimetres long.
But they do not contain any Mescaline....!
So be careful if you want to buy a real San Pedro Cactus with 7 or 8 ribs !

Growth of the San Pedro Cactus
This San Pedro Cactus is well rooted and grows immediately at home.
A fully rooted San Pedro in a large pot grows about 30 cm or more per year !
Mescaline layer
This rooted San Pedro is a potted, thick, strong, green to blue-grey cutting from a large plant.
Cuttings have a thicker green chlorenchyma layer than seeded plants.
This tissue layer located below the epidermis contains relatively the most Mescaline.
Even as a large plant, the true Trichocereus pachanoi has short spines up to 2 cm in length !
And a V-shaped groove above each areole (= thorn cushion).
Making cuttings
If necessary, you can cut off the top 4 cm, and let this cutting root again.
The lower part of the cactus will then make several new cuttings.

TRIP
For a trip (eating), it is better to order the San Pedro Cuttings for Ceremonies.
Grows right on at home, in a spacious pot some 30 cm or more in length per year.
San Pedro Cacti can flower from 30 cm onwards, provided they get enough sun !
