Features of a low square pot
A low square pot has a smaller height than its width.
E.g. 7 x 7 x 6 cm (length x width x height).
A low square pot therefore has a smaller capacity than a normal square pot.
So less substrate (soil) can go into a low pot, so the soil dries out faster.
Applications of a low square pot
1. Plants that are sensitive to moisture such as cacti, succulents and ash flowers.
The drier soil gives less chance of rotting and infestation.
2. Plants with shallow roots, such as sod-forming succulents (e.g. Aas flowers).
3. When sowing all seeds.

Eigenschappen van een lage vierkante pot
Een lage vierkante pot heeft een kleinere hoogte dan de breedte.
Bijv. 7 x 7 x 6 cm (lengte x breedte x hoogte).
Een lage vierkante pot heeft dus een kleinere inhoud dan een normale vierkante pot.
Er kan dus minder substraat (grond) in een lage pot, zodat de grond sneller uitdroogt.
Toepassingen van een lage vierkante pot
1. Planten die gevoelig zijn voor vocht zoals Cactussen, Vetplanten, en Aasbloemen.
De drogere grond geeft minder kans op rotting en aantasting.
2. Planten die ondiep wortelen, zoals zodenvormende Vetplanten (bijv. Aasbloemen).
3. Bij het zaaien van alle zaden.
